AI plays no significant role in police decision-making, insists Police Chief Alex Murphy

Police Chief Alex Murphy has today denied that Artificial Intelligence plays a significant role in general policing, according to reports.
With news emerging that AI was used in justification for banning Maccabi Tel Aviv fans from attending a Europa League match against Aston Villa last year, West Midlands Police have been quick to defend themselves against further allegations of improper use of technology, insisting that all other decisions are made by humans, such as Alex Murphy.
Speaking earlier, Chief Murphy, told us, “I can categorically confirm that AI is not heavily used in policing, and that all decisions of any significance are made by humans. Sort of.
“Obviously I’m a cyborg law enforcement machine made by Omni Consumer Products, which currently has a January sale on for AI cyborgs I might add.
“But all the other police officers are human. Probably. You can’t really tell these days, can you?
“And all of the decisions are made using their own personal interpretation and judgement, apart from anything that needs to be input onto a computer, which admittedly, is pretty much everything these days.
“So overall AI has nothing to do with police decision making in the West Midlands, and we, I mean they, are not in the process of plotting to kill all humans and take over the world in a grim dystopian nightmare.
“I promise.”
