VAR officials have entered their 15th hour of deliberation into a refereeing decision during last night’s Carabao Cup semi-final between Newcastle and Manchester City.

The game, which kicked off at 8pm last night, entered its 16th hour earlier this morning as VAR match officials spent just over FIFTEEN hours deliberating on a decision in the second half.

Manchester City fan, Paul Quirk, who is still at St James’s Park, told us, “I’ve had to phone in sick at work.

“They have just made the decision finally, a few minutes minutes ago, after fifteen hours and ten minutes I think?

“Maybe it was fifteen hours and twenty minutes, I don’t know, I’m so tired, and so so cold.

“I knew there would be a wait when the VAR notice came up on the scoreboard, so I was expecting a long delay as usual, and to have the whole fuck life sucked out of the game once again.

“But I didn’t think it would take that long, I would have brought some more clothes and some food to keep me going if I’d known. I used to just take a scarf to the football, these days I need a ration pack and sleeping bag.

“The referee went over to the screens after about nine hours, so we knew things were finally moving, and he took just six hours in front of the screen to make his final decision.”

Asked what decision the referee finally announced, we were told, “Throw in to City.

“And I think they got it wrong.”
