Local election analysis that revealed Reform is more popular with the less educated, surprises absolutely no one

According to a study of the recent UK local elections, the less educated a voter is, the more likely they are to be persuaded by the low-information populist nonsense spouted by Reform.

Reform averaged an incredible 43% of the vote in areas where more than half the adult population has few, if any, educational qualifications. In contrast, it polled just 19% in areas where more than two in five have a degree.

“This is just more proof that Universities are turning our kids woke,” insisted Derek Matthews, the proud owner of a single woodworking O Level and graduate of The University of Life.

“Why would you go to University if you’re going to come out thinking that Nigel Farage is a populist grifter instead of the saviour this country desperately needs?”

“*Sigh*”, exclaimed Derek’s granddaughter Simone, rolling her eyes almost into the back of her head.

“The reality is, the longer you stay in formal education, the more you learn HOW to learn, how to do actual research and how to discern what real evidence actually looks like. An unfortunate side effect of this process is that you become much, much better at spotting bullshit, and those repeatedly spouting it.

“If your main takeaway from this research is that Universities are busy churning out know-nothing wokerati hand over fist, rather than questioning why most of the people who’ve actually learned how to analyse evidence disagree with you about Reform, then you’re probably suffering from a severe case of cognitive dissonance.

“Though I acknowledge you probably won’t know what this is if you’re a Reform voter.”
