‘I’m usually very good at conveyancing’ insists Angela Rayner’s legal advisor
1 year ago
Angela Rayner’s legal advisor has insisted today that he is usually quite good at the law around conveyancing and tax obligations, honest.
With news emerging yesterday that the deputy Prime Minister failed to pay the correct stamp duty on a property, after allegedly taking legal advice, Saul Goodman, the legal advisor in question, insisted that he knew what he was doing, kind of.
Speaking earlier, Mr Goodman told us, “Yes, I totally know what I’m doing with all this stamp duty shit. Honest.
“I can confirm that I provided legal advice to Ms Rayner on her tax liabilities when purchasing a second home recently, and I definitely gave the correct advice – that’s a Saul Goodman guarantee, and you can take that to the bank.
“Well, you know, between you and me, I kind of guessed a bit to be honest, as it’s all a bit complicated, and there are too many words in all those stupid rules.
“But I’m sure it was pretty much accurate. Sort of.”
Asked specifically what advice was given to the deputy PM when she asked if she needed to pay tax, we were told, “I just told her fuck it, don’t pay anything. No one will ever know.”
