Television viewers were left disgusted last night as contestants on hit TV show I’m a Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here, were fed government lies in a vile bushtucker trial.

Ofcom received over 5,000 complaints from viewers, and ITV will now face an investigation by the television watchdog.

Mike Tindall was forced to look on in horror as a video of Rishi Sunak saying “the reason we’re in a recession is Ukraine, and has nothing to do with Brexit” was played before him.

The former rugby star gagged several times but held his nerve throughout the clip, which secured a star for his camp.

Former footballer Jill Scott was not so lucky, however.

She threw up as a video of Suella Braverman giving a speech in which insisted the UK was “being overrun by illegal immigrants” was played.

Presenters Ant and Dec looked away as the contestant held her head in her hands and sobbed, while Braverman’s voice cackled away in the background.

She screamed for producers to ‘get me out of here’ once the video moved on to show Boris Johnson promising “40 new hospitals” during the last election campaign.

An insider later said, “We went too far, and we know it. I just hope the poor contestants and viewers can get over the sickening things they had to watch.”

A further Bushtucker trial called ‘The Farage coffin’ has now been scrapped with the insider going on to say, “The plan was to have a celebrity try and survive a minute inside a coffin with Nigel Farage.

“After much deliberation, we decided we simply could not put a contestant through that.”
