Vladimir Putin regretting putting Baldrick in charge of Russian Army

Vladimir Putin is seriously regretting putting Edmund Blackadder’s sidekick Baldrick in full charge of the entire Russian Army, it has been revealed today.

With news emerging overnight of confusion and embarrassing failures by Russian troops including the shooting down of one of their own aircraft, sources at the Kremlin have now revealed that they are genuinely regretting the decision to install Baldrick as the man in charge of the whole entire invasion.

Russian Ambassador Svimonov Villiams confirmed, “Yes it was a bad idea. I don’t think Mr Putin thought this through.

“Obviously the decision to invade Ukraine was a big one, and we needed the right leader in charge, which is why we decided on Baldrick, who assured us he had a very cunning plan for victory.

“Baldrick comes from a long line of descendants with a wealth of military experience and a proven track record of success without anything ever going wrong.

“However, in hindsight, it turns out that he is largely incompetent and has absolutely no idea what he is doing, which ultimately costs the lives of thousands of his soldiers in a brutal yet comical way.

“We just didn’t see it coming.”

Asked if there is any other leaders they should perhaps have looked to instead, we were told, “Oooh Ooooh who’s the fella out of Dad’s Army?”
