Another government U-turn on Covid passports is ‘one option’ says minister

Nadhim Zahawi possible u-turn

Another government U-turn on the use of so-called ‘Covid passports’ is one option the government are considering it is revealed today.

With previous indications from the government that official documentation will not be required by the public to return to certain events, vaccine minister Nadhim Zahawi has now revealed that yet another U-turn on the position previously adapted is just one of a number of options being considered.

Speaking earlier he told us “Yes, obviously a U-turn is one option we have considered, again.

“Look, everyone knows we are making this up as we go along, and we have previously stated that ‘Covid passports’ will not be required in England when asked the question directly.

“That’s why we are now considering this as an option, and trialing the possibility in a number of domestic events over the coming weeks and months.

“This would of course be our 437th U-turn of the last 12 months, and could cause division and uncertainty throughout the whole of the country.

“So we want to take our time on the issue, take into consideration what is best for the people of the UK, and then just do whatever is easiest for us personally.”

Asked what has changed to make the government alter its stance on the matter we were told “Well…. Erm… we’ve started calling them Covid ‘certification’ rather than ‘passports’, is that what you mean?”
