‘If we don’t get an extra bank holiday it’s a disgrace’ insists man who didn’t watch one second of Euro 2025

A man has insisted today that it is an absolute disgrace that we don’t get an extra bank holiday to celebrate England’s victory in the Women’s European Championships, despite not actually watching one second of the tournament.
Simon Williams, who read that England had won this morning, revealed his anger earlier after learning that we would probably not get an extra day off work to celebrate that thing that he read we won.
Speaking earlier he raged “Disgraceful. Absolutely disgraceful!
“We should be given an extra bank holiday to celebrate this amazing victory by our brave lionesses who beat Germany or someone in the final by scoring some goals I think!
“They are such an inspiration for everyone and this has lifted the whole nation, or so I read this morning in the newspaper, so we need to have a day off.
“I just find it really sexist if we are not granted an extra bank holiday, and it just shows that this government do not care about the women’s game, or women in general.”
Asked if he was nervous watching the game as it went to penalties at the end, we were told, “What’s a penalty? Is that where they are offside and get a free throw-in or something?”
