World Cup now just weeks away from its first interesting match

The World Cup is now only weeks away from its first actual interesting game that anyone gives a shit about, it has been revealed today.
With Ivory Coast v Ecuador finishing one-nil or something last night, and Iran v New Zealand set to take place tomorrow, the first actual good game in this year’s World Cup is scheduled to start in just a few short weeks’ time when most of the shite teams have finally gone out.
A spokesperson for Fifa confirmed “The countdown is on!
“We can confirm that the good games in the World Cup are only weeks away, when the round of 16 begins, and some countries that we have heard of actually start to play each other.
“Obviously the competition has begun, but there won’t be any proper games for a while yet, whilst we piss about in the group stages with the likes of Jordan and Cape Verde.
“Then, once they all get inevitably eliminated, there might be a few games which actually mean something and are worth staying up to watch.
“And that’s only a few weeks away now, so stay tuned, it’s going to be really exciting! At some point. Definitely.”
Asked how many people they expect to watch the Iran v New Zealand game tomorrow we were told, “It could be hundreds. It’s not to be missed!”
