The government has announces a £53m support plan to help people with rising heating bills, now that the warm weather is here, and nobody needs their heating.

With news emerging yesterday that the government will look to help households struggling to heat their homes due to rising oil prices, further news has now emerged that the help can now begin because it’s almost 20 degrees outside.

Resident Simon Williams, who will benefit from the assistance told us “This is perfect timing, as usual”

“We are absolutely over the moon to receive assistance with our heating bills, just as we turn the heating off until September”

“Obviously the cost of heating our home has been sky high for some time now, and we’ve really struggled recently, so it’s nice to get some help.

“Just when we decide to turn all the heating off, because we are entering spring and the weather is now getting warmer.

“We will probably have the heating off for most of spring and summer and so won’t be using the energy as much. So the £0.04p per week we will be saving will really make a difference.

A spokesperson for the government confirmed “We are delighted to be able to help with heating bills for those most in need, just as the weather gets really warm and nobody will need their heating.

“We will of course remove all assistance again next autumn just in time for another freezing cold expensive winter to cripple vulnerable households”
