Donald Trump receives $5 Amazon gift card as apology from Jeff Bezos
1 year ago
Donald Trump has ended his short-lived feud with Jeff Bezos after the Amazon founder sent him an $5 apology gift card.
The US president was reportedly unhappy with Amazon’s plan to detail the cost of trade tariffs to its customers, though any bad blood has now been resolved upon receiving the $5 Amazon gift card.
“I’ve never seen the president looking so happy,” said White House advisor Chuck Williams.
“It was really generous of Jeff to send it over. I know he’s worth over $200 billion, but it’s the thought that counts.
“The president has been scrolling Amazon all day, looking for the perfect thing to spend his gift card on. So far he’s narrowed it down to some Maybelline foundation, baby-sized gloves and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York on Blu-ray. And before you ask, no, it’s not because he likes to constantly re-watch his scene on a continual loop.
“This feud has opened up a world of opportunities when it comes to getting free stuff. We’re hoping that if we hold a press conference slagging off Nespresso we might be able to get a new coffee machine out of it.
“Well, the coffee machine was my idea. The president wanted to publicly criticise Spearmint Rhino instead.”
