A first-time buyer is celebrating today after finally managing to secure a competitive mortgage deal to enable him and his fiancé to purchase a lovely detached three-man tent.
Simon Williams, who managed to secure the mortgage in principle this morning revealed his exciting news earlier whilst looking around properties at Go Outdoors with his partner, focussing on those he can afford based on his projected repayments over the next few years.
Speaking earlier he told us, “I got the mortgage over 55 years, so I can afford something quite nice.
“I’m finally going to get on the property ladder, with what we hope will be a really lovely three-man tent with two separate bedrooms and a reasonably sized porch.
“It will be detached too, so you can’t ask for much more than that.
“Obviously interest rates are quite high at the minute, and there is a worry it could get worse, so we had to work out what sort of property we could afford – which was essentially just a tent.
“We both work full time though, and have been saving for years for a deposit, so we can get a pretty decent large one, for when we decide to start a family.
“We just hope that things calm down a bit over the next few years so we can think about buying some camping chairs.”
Asked to comment on their potential purchase, fiancé Sharon beamed, “I just want to personally thank Rishi Sunak for giving us this chance! It’s gorgeous.”
