Man buys second hand car because it’s cheaper than filling up his own

Financially shrewd Simon Williams purchased a second-hand car with three quarters of a tank of fuel in it because it’s cheaper than using his own to get to work today.

Simon, who faced forking out three figures to get his car to the magical ‘full’ lever, noticed that a kid up the road was selling an old Toyota Yaris for less and snapped it up.

“Fill my tank or buy a car from someone who already had done? It was an easy call.

“I’ll probably abandon the Yaris in the work car park and buy another from the cheap second hand place up the street to get home,” he told us.

“With petrol the price it is this make complete financial sense. Penny wise is pound clever, or however it goes.”
