The government has announced that by 2040 Jeremy Clarkson will be 100% electric in a bid to tackle harmful pollutants.
The petrolhead will be converted to run entirely on electric power thanks to a new clean air strategy aimed at improving the nation’s health.
Campaigners welcomed the move, with the electric Clarkson thought to be at lower risk of polluting the air with toxic emissions.
Until the conversion takes place, the government have given local authorities the powers to charge the non-electric Clarkson for entering built-up areas, citing health risks to the population from harmful pollutants.
The government also unveiled plans that by 2040 Richard Hammond will run entirely on hydrogen and James May will have been phased out under a scrappage scheme.
