Diddy celebrates not guilty verdicts by announcing 12 new signings to Bad Boy Records
1 year ago
Fresh from his multiple ‘not guilty’ verdicts, P Diddy has announced the signing of 12 brand new artists to Bad Boy Records; each one personally scouted by himself.
So far little is known about the diverse group of artists, except that of the 12, 8 are men and 4 are women of all different ages and races; and that they also all happen to be current residents of New York.
The exact contracts they’ve signed have been kept secret, but are widely rumoured to be some of the biggest in the record label’s history.
Just where Diddy found these artists has also remained a mystery, however, a spokesman for the label did reveal that they weren’t signed simply for their musical prowess but because they’re also “Exceptional judges of character.”
Though their identities are currently unknown, there has been some significant speculation, with one New York resident telling us, “My neighbour Edith is 59 and due to retire next month, but she takes a couple of months off work to do a her ‘civic duty’ and now she tells me she’s signed a five-album deal to ‘become a rapper’.
“She’s only ever shown an interest in knitting and her grandkids. It’s fairytale stuff.”
The Bad Boy Records spokesperson also confirmed that there were plans for a 13th artist to be signed, however, this was put on hold after the judge ‘regrettably’ denied Mr Combs’ bail.
So far, the artists themselves are yet to make public comment, except to turn down an invitation to celebrate the signing with Diddy, at his mansion, once he gets released.
