‘Facts have a well-known liberal bias’, complains JD Vance after Vice-President debate
2 years ago
Donald Trump’s vice-presidential running mate, JD Vance, has criticised the moderators of last night’s VP debate, insisting that using facts to check claims made by politicians is a well-known liberal tactic to stifle conservative voices.
After the moderator pointed out to viewers that Springfield, Ohio has a large number of Haitian migrants who have a legal status and are not, therefore, ‘illegal’, Vance told viewers to be wary “because you can prove anything with facts.”
Vance went on, “We were told we would NOT be fact-checked during this debate, but if this is going to be the case, then I would like to request a recess because all of our debate prep has been based on me being able to say anything I like to the American people and nobody being able to prove I’m lying.
“If you’re going to continue using facts to prove that I’m lying, then I want a do-over. Anything else would be a liberal conspiracy designed solely to silence American patriots.
“Yes, it would be, shut up.”
Meanwhile, non-simpletons have welcomed further fact-checking in the presidential campaign, insisting anything that prevents political leaders from lying to the electorate, should be considered a “good thing”.
Voter Chuck Williams told us, “I like to see our politicians facing questions and being forced to think on their feet while giving answers – it’s good for democracy.
“I also think that if your side is the only side complaining about being fact-checked, maybe you should work a little harder on stifling your urge to continually spout total bullshit?”
