English Heritage sites on the verge of becoming entirely arsehole-free
1 year agoEnglish Heritage sites across the country are on the verge of becoming entirely free from the sort of Reform-loving roundabout-painting arsehole that dislikes anyone slightly different from themselves.
Right-wing perma-offended simpletons are cancelling their English Heritage memberships because… *checks notes* … they included a mixed-race family in an advert for some of their sites.
Non-moron Simon Williams told us, “What we have here is a case of contrarian morons who seemingly only exist to find new things to be offended by.
“People probably won’t remember, but they’ve called for boycotts on all sorts of businesses and organisations, like Costa, and Grind, and Waitrose, and Five Guys. All of which disappeared after they had the temerity to cater for some of their minority customers.
“To be clear, they’re cancelling English Heritage membership and access to sites across the country because of a promotional photo that had the temerity to suggest mixed race families are a real thing.
“Imagine being so emotionally fragile that the mere existence of a mixed-race family is enough to make you boycott a venue. They’ll also claim to be bgi free speech lovers, obviously, and insist that cancel culture is a curse. Logical consistency is not big with this folks.
“That’s what these self-proclaimed freedom fighters have become. Honestly, these people are so dumb.”
An English Heritage spokesperson told us, “No, you don’t have to be mixed race to visit our attractions, and yes, refugees can get in for free – but so can educational groups, the disabled, and other groups. Plus the fact that a large number of our sites are free to literally everyone.
“Only the poor-informed and those trying to willfully mislead the terminally gullible would believe English Heritage was ‘anti-English’.
“Still, given the type of Twitter profile currently calling for a boycott, I think we could use the fact they won’t be attending any of our sites as a selling point.
“Imagine being able to visit an English Heritage site of historical interest, AND guaranteeing that you won’t bump into the sort of twat who goes around insisting Laurence Fox is right about anything?
“Delightful.”
