Police have announced they are investigating hate crime activity after it emerged Morrissey historically called for the hanging of an innocent disc jockey and the burning down of a nightclub.

Archive footage of the 80s star musician demanding a DJ be hanged was posted online over the weekend, leading to some comparing his behaviour to ISIS.

The popular singer made the demands on Top of the Pops in 1986, and went on to warn that there would be panic across the UK, including London, Bristol and Humberside.

“We take allegations like this incredibly seriously”, said Detective Chief Inspector Simon Williams of the Investigating Things People on Twitter Might be Upset By division of the Metropolitan Police.

“Terror groups have often used public executions to strike fear into their opponents, and DJ Daz Swallow of Kettering is reported to be ‘bricking himself’ over these threats.

“We are asking Morrissey to turn himself in immediately for questioning, as otherwise we’ll send six officers round to ineffectually shout through his letterbox.

“Yes, this really is what I joined the police for, why do you ask?”, he added.
