Family left distraught after Winter Wonderland turns out to be very festive and great value for money

A family of four from Glasgow have been left shocked and disappointed after a Winter Wonderland event they attended in the city turned out to be a wonderful experience which left them all feeling very Christmassy.

“We saw the advert saying that the Winter Wonderland would be a Christmas extravaganza that the kids would remember all their lives,” explained gutted Dad, Simon Williams.

“And when we got there we were crushed to find that that it’s exactly what it was, the tickets didn’t even cost that much. We feel cheated.

“Moaning about overpriced Christmas experiences is as British as sprouts and crackers, so this has been a huge disappointment.

“Obviously we expected to go straight on Twitter and Facebook complaining about how there were hardly any decorations, the reindeers looked depressed and the elves were abusive and covered in tattoos. But much to our dismay, the reindeers looked great and the elves literally couldn’t have been nicer.”

Mum Lorna says she will be submitting a complaint to Trading Standards after the experience.

“The organisers shouldn’t be allowed to get away with it,” says the 35-year-old mum of two.

“I mean, if Santa isn’t a creepy-looking old bloke who reeks of whisky, and the ice rink hasn’t melted into an ankle-deep puddle, can you even call it a Winter Wonderland? We didn’t even see the elves having a crafty fag beside the chemical toilets.

“Plus the hot chocolate was delicious and only cost £2. Its an outrage.”

In response, the organisers have apologised for failing to meet public expectations and have confirmed that they will issue a full refund to anyone who had a good time.
