‘We are not the far-right’ insist protesters setting fire to libraries and migrant hotels

After a library was set alight during far-right protests in Merseyside, protesters have been quick to insist this is very different to the Nazis burning books.

As violent protests entered their third night across the UK, many of those who took to the streets have insisted that this is not a ‘far-right protest’, and any similarity to the tactics of the Nazis is purely coincidental.

Protester Simon Williams, 48, told us, “Yes, I was stood next to a guy with a Nazi tattoo, but that doesn’t mean anything. It could have been a Chelsea tattoo but it wouldn’t have made me a Chelsea fan, would it?

“And as for those blokes draped in an England flag doing a Nazi salute in the faces of the police, they were probably just having a bit of a stretch.

“And the Nazis burned books, not libraries. Which is very different. If you can’t tell the difference, I can’t help you.

“And please don’t go on about Kristallnacht. That was almost 90 years ago and very clearly Nazi sympathisers targeting stores and businesses owned by Jewish members of the community, whereas here the looting and damage was focussed on all members of the migrant community. And if we couldn’t find them, we threw rocks at Greggs.

Williams concluded, “I do wish everything would stop calling these protests ‘far-right’. Just because we set fire to a couple of hotels containing asylum seekers, attacked a few mosques and looted a few shops, shouldn’t detract from our main point – which is that murdering children is a bad thing.

“If you’re criticising us, it’s only because you love kids being murdered.

“Checkmate libtards.”
