Even Rick Astley has given up on Boris Johnson this evening.
The singer, famous for promising “never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down” has sought to distance himself from the moribund Prime Minister.
“I am afraid I am going to give him up, I am going to let him down and, should the opportunity arise, I am going to run around and hurt him” confirmed the 80s icon.
“We’re no strangers to love, but I’d very much like to be a stranger to Boris.
“Lyrical references aside, he’s shit, and I hate him.”
A Downing Street spokesperson said, ”I’ll have to make this quick as I’ve just resigned.”
“The Prime Minister regrets that he has lost the support of Rick Astley, he has told me he’s a huge fan of all of his songs, despite not being able to name a single one of them.
“The Prime Minister hopes to retain the support of other 80s superstars such as Spandau Ballet and, in particular, Chesney Hawkes, as the Prime Minister very much considers himself to be The One and Only.
“I’ll be delighted not to have to listen to such cringeworthy horseshit ever again. Now help me steal some stationery or get out of the way.”
