BBC announce new family sitcom about woman who is a bit clumsy or something

Woman sitcom

The BBC has announced a new family sitcom about a woman who is a bit clumsy or something for Thursday evenings after Eastenders.

It is thought it has been commissioned because no-one could think of another variation on the Masterchef format.

The woman, played, one would imagine, by someone inoffensive to most people, will live with her family in a nice suburban house and will occasionally bang her leg on the coffee table with hilarious consequences.

“Yeah, a family sitcom about a woman who is a bit clumsy or something, this’ll be great,” said a BBC producer whose passion for the job seemed to be a distant memory.

“Well, I say ‘great,’ let’s not push it. It’ll pass half an hour if you’ve got nothing better to do.

“Which is pretty much what we aim for with family sitcoms these days.

“I mean, it’s amazing when you think about it, we can do something as groundbreaking and amazing as Fleabag but when it comes to traditional, in-studio, family sitcoms, our ambition seems to just be to ‘pass half an hour if you’ve got nothing better to do’.

“So, yeah, a woman who is a bit clumsy or something. Should be alright.”

It is thought that the sitcom about a woman who is a bit clumsy or something will be remembered as fondly as other great BBC family sitcoms like that one about a man who is a bit grumpy, or the one about a boy who has a dog who is quite clever, and the classic sitcom about a family who live in a house that is a bit too big.
