Telly man Chris Tarrant has been found guilty of drink-driving, leaving the magistrate absolutely teeming with jokes.
The former host of Who Wants to be A Millionaire was arrested for drink-driving on December 16th after knocking back a few lemonades in the pub and hopping into his car, at which point a concerned member of the public/bloody snitch called the police.
During sentencing, magistrate Simon Williams said “Have a look at this, it’s two points on your license and a £1000 fine. BUT WE DON’T WANT TO GIVE YOU THAT. HAHAHA.
“Sorry, the court is not usually the place for hilarious jokes but one can’t resist. You’ll be banned from driving for twelve months and issued a £6,000 fine.
“We’ve asked the audience; 72% of them think you’ve been a right twat and fully deserve this.
“Your blood alcohol level so so high it could have been described as 50/50…I mean not really, obviously, because you’d be dead, but work with me here, you see where I’m going with this.
“Next time you’ve knocked back a few bevvies, I suggest you… heh heh..phone a friend…”
Outside court, Chris Tarrant said, “I think the sentence was fair, but the judge is a tedious prick.”
