Turkey votes for Christmas

Turkey has voted to be trussed up and stuffed in a referendum this weekend.

Voters had been promised that a vote for Christmas would mean less work and more to eat, although who would get those things was left curiously vague.

Observers suggest that the result is due to anger amongst ordinary Turkeys, who feel they are at the bottom of the pecking order.

Campaigners against the vote warned Turkeys that Yes would result in them having a hand stuck up their bum and their giblets pulled out, but this was rejected as ‘fearmongering’ by leading Pro-Turkey figures.

“Farmer Erdogan told us that if we voted for Christmas, I’d never do another day of work again”, said Turkey Saymon Willicoglu.

“By giving the farmer unlimited power with no right of redress, all my problems would be solved in one stroke.

“I’m really looking forward to that. I can’t wait to find out whose head is going to be on the block.”
