Culture war veteran pretty sure his efforts should be recognised on Remembrance Sunday

A veteran of the culture wars has insisted that he should be recognised on Sunday alongside other soldiers who fought in major wars.

Simon Williams, 45, has been on the front line of the culture wars since the emergence of the #MeToo movement in 2017, and believes his seven years of service deserve recognition.

He told us, “Whether it’s fighting against women who want to feel safer, or black people playing the victim because one of them got shot, I have never shirked from my responsibility to leap into the breach and defend our way of life.

“Over the years I have clocked up thousands of hours online arguing that George Floyd got what he deserved, and that people who pulled down slaver statues should be locked up for life.

“More recently I’ve pivoted to repeatedly asking people to define what a woman is, regardless of the subject being debated, and then railing against people who want to stifle misinformation online.

“These days I can mostly be found insisting that anyone in prison for the September riots is a political prisoner locked up by Kier Stazi.

“I have never wavered, not for one second, in my duty to fight anything perceived as remotely ‘woke’.

“I mean, yes, I’ve never had to literally pick up a rifle, or be subject to enemy fire, but I’ve been called a lot of names online, which is essentially the same thing.

“I know that, deep down, when people pay their respects on Sunday, they’ll be including people like me in their thoughts.

“Yes they will, shut up.”
