20-year-old Jack Williams has spoken of his surprise at being handed his third once-in-a-lifetime democratic opportunity in the two years since his 18th birthday.
Williams, who turned 18 shortly before the 2015 general election said he had welcomed the first once-in-a-lifetime vote.
He explained, “I was told by both major parties, that this was my once chance to determine the direction of the country for the next 25 years.
“Turns out it was my one chance – well, for the next 14 months at least – right up until the EU referendum, which both sides, of course, assured me represented my second once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to determine the direction of the country for the next 25 years.
“If that wasn’t enough, here we are another ten months further down the road and now – according to pretty much every side – I’m once again presented with yet another once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to determine the direction of the country for the next 25 years.
“I know I’m still kinda new to this whole democracy thing, but surely it would be a lot easier if everyone just admitted they have no idea what they’re doing, and we just agree to vote on the stuff that’s bothering us every year?
“No, ok – the side with the fewest arseholes it is then.”
I’m voting for the side with the fewest arseholes – get the t-shirt here!
