‘This country’s biased media is shamelessly using things I’ve actually said to make me look bad’, insists Kemi Badenoch

Tory leadership candidate Kemi Badenoch has rounded on the ‘biased media’ for their repeated attempts to make her look bad by sharing the things she says.
Badenoch is at the Conservative party conference and is one of four candidates still vying for the position of party leader, which has given her plenty of opportunity to talk freely to reporters.
However, as journalists continue sharing the things she has said, Badenoch has claimed she is being made a scapegoat.
Badenoch told reporters, “It’s typical of the liberal media in this country that they will repeatedly show clips of me saying things that will prevent me from becoming the leader of this party, but they won’t show video of things I didn’t say and which make me look really good.
“In my head, there were dozens of excellent points made, and I explained myself persuasively and passionately – but these hacks choose to ignore this fact and instead focus on the words that came out of my mouth while I was sat in front of them.
“Everyone knows reality has a dangerous liberal bias, and the media in this country are just playing into that.
“If a politician is going to have the things they have said, on the record, and in public, repeatedly thrown back at them by tenacious journalists, then what sort of future do we have as a democracy?
“Hmm. That’s interesting. Maybe we should just get rid of democracy altogether?”
