Prime Minister Rishi Sunak received a call yesterday from his mum telling him that it doesn’t matter what anyone says, he did his best and she thought he did very well and that the important thing was that she loved him very much.

Usha Sunak went on to say that it’s ever so difficult to stand up in front of people and do a speech, so he should be proud that he didn’t forget his words or fall over or something.

“I know that Rishi-bishi has had a little bit of a difficult time of it recently, what with running a party in open revolt, having no sort of coherent policy agenda, and being the third shittest Prime Minister in history. So, I thought he could do with a bit of a pick-me-up from his mum,” explained Usha Sunak.

“I just thought it was important to say that it must be ever so difficult, standing up in front of a big room full of people who think you’re an incompetent lightweight, and that considering it was his first go at it, he did very well.

“I mean, I’d probably just completely freeze up, so I think he did ever so well.”

Mrs Sunak confessed she didn’t actually watch the whole speech.

“No, I got to the bit where he said Britain wasn’t a racist country and I cringed so badly I had to go and have a lie-down.

“But the important thing is that Rishi-bishi tried his best and his mum is very proud.”
