A woman who hasn’t properly read an entire work email since 2017 is this morning happy to read every single word of the longest email she’s seen in a decade.

The 2,500-word tome, released by an anonymous source just days before George Osborne is due to marry his second wife, Thea Rogers, outlines a series of accusations against the former Chancellor, alleging infidelity and a range of other inappropriate behaviours over a number of years.

“I was gripped from the first line,” explained office worker, Simone Williams.

“I read the first couple of paragraphs, and that was it. I cancelled my meetings, made myself a coffee and settled in for the long haul. It takes a long time to read it properly and to follow all the links to stories in the press and on Twitter.

“I knew he was a shit; I mean, who didn’t know that he was a shit after his years of enthusiastic austerity? We all know. But some of this is next-level stuff. He could probably have his own me-too movement after this.

“What I wouldn’t give to be a guest at his wedding on Saturday. Assuming it’s still going ahead of course…”
