Elon Musk confirms that all Twitter users are equal, but some are more equal than others

Elon Musk has begun reintroducing free blue-check verification for notable Twitter accounts, insisting this does not change the fact that all Twitter users are equal.

With many legacy-verified high-profile accounts reporting that their blue-check has reappeared despite not paying for Twitter Blue, Twitter has confirmed that some users are now getting verified at no cost.

A spokesperson told us, “Elon has always insisted that Twitter Blue brings equality for all users. He had a vision of a platform where a Bitcoin scammer from Russia could have access to exactly the same benefits as Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Giving free verification to high-profile users is just a continuation of that process. All Twitter users remain equal; he is merely acknowledging that some users are more equal than others.

“Critics who say he has simply reinvented the legacy verification process that he previously described as ‘corrupt’ simply don’t understand Elon Musk.

“THIS process of arbitrarily choosing who and who is not verified for free is very different to the previous regime who arbitrarily decided who was and was not verified for Free.

“If you think it’s the same, then I would encourage you to check out the comments under Elon’s latest Tweet, which will provide many expert opinions reminding you how brilliant and innovative his decision is.”

Meanwhile, Twitter user Simon Williams told us, “People will only pay for Twitter Blue if they think it carries some level of kudos, rather than simply being seen as a badge proving you’re a desperate Elon simp and a loser.

“Elon giving free verification to big or high-profile accounts is simply this week’s attempt to convince people that Twitter Blue isn’t just for desperate losers.

“It will be something else next week, but in the meantime, yes, paid users are mostly losers.”
