Frank Lampard has sensationally been sacked and re-appointed as caretaker’s caretaker by Chelsea owner Todd Boehly following the club’s exit from the Champions League last night.

Lampard, who was sacked first thing this morning after yet another defeat, was re-appointed by the mercurial American half an hour later as the club looks to turn around its season.

A spokesperson for Chelsea FC confirmed, “It’s great for the club.

“We would like to thank Frank for all he has done for Chelsea football club, but we can confirm that Frank has left the club this morning following a run of disappointing results since his return to the club.

“Obviously the performances were not what we were looking for, and we had no option but to look for a replacement in order to salvage tenth, or something shit like that.

“When looking for a caretaker to replace our caretaker, there was one candidate that stood head and shoulders above the others and we are therefore delighted to announce the return of Frank Lampard as caretaker’s caretaker manager of Chelsea for the final six games of the season.

“We are confident that he will bring the results needed to end the season with a flourish and help us climb the table.

“And if he doesn’t, he will be sacked.

“For a few days.”
