Boris Johnson has been spotted chasing Volodymyr Zelensky’s presidential motorcade towards the airport in the desperate hope of getting a nice photo for the album.

Johnson, who has more photos with the Ukrainian President than with his own children, was left in a jealous fury after watching Zelensky pose for photos with Rishi Sunak, various MPs and the King himself.

An aide to the former Prime Minister told us, “Boris was absolutely frantic at the prospect of Zelensky getting within a few hundred yards of him and not being photographed shaking his hand.

“Photos with the Ukrainian president are just about the only thing keeping Boris relevant these days – he even flew to Ukraine a couple of weeks ago to get another one – so to find him on his doorsteps but not get a photo op is unthinkable.

“He got on his bike and rode as fast as he could to Buckingham Palace, but he just missed the motorcade, which was already on its way to the airport.

“Then, to make matters worse, he got a puncture, so had no choice but to ditch the bike and start running. The last time we saw him, he was breathing very heavily and running in the general direction of Stansted.

“If he gets the in time, be prepared for a sweaty middle-aged version of the final airport scene in Love Actually.”
