Labour Leader Keir Starmer has appeared in public in a home-made superhero outfit and a T-shirt bearing the slogan ‘Anti-Growth Coalition Assemble’.
The move comes just a day after prime minister Liz Truss decided that anyone who offered any opposition whatsoever to any of her more lunatic ideas, should be classified as the ‘anti-growth coalition’.
“It is a badge I wear with pride,” explained Starmer.
“Obviously we’re not anti-growth, but mischaracterising the opposition parties is all this government has left, so I’m actually quite pleased she’s brought us together like this.
“I call on all members of the Anti-Growth coalition to ASSEMBLE and take this government down.”
Starmer then pulled his mask back over his eyes and ran around the room with his arm out in front of him making flying noises, as if to entertain a child who wasn’t actually there.
“Christ, he’s really taken this metaphor a bit far, hasn’t he?” commented reporter Simon Williams.
“If I didn’t know better, I’d think this entire piece was nothing more than a thinly-veiled bit of promotion by a second-rate satire site trying to sell their excellent new Anti-Growth Coalition T-shirt.”
