Larger street rats already being snapped up for Christmas dinner

Brits are, once again, making early plans for Christmas, only Baldrick-style this time.

Given the cost of living crisis, many will be foregoing the traditional Christmas turkey in favour of a nice, tasty rat.

“We were watching that Blackadder episode, y’know, to distract us from literally everything,” commented citizen, Simon Williams.

“Then there’s the bit about Baldrick cooking the rat, which gets a big laugh in 1983, but actually sounds like a pretty decent idea in 2022.

“Before I knew it, I had the butterfly net in the back of the car, and I was headed for Kettering town centre.

“Came back with this handsome fella. Reckon he’ll do a family of three quite nicely. We’ll pop him in the deep freeze until the big day- well, for as long as we are able to pay to power the deep freeze anyway, so around late October, but by then we should be able to keep him cold enough in a bucket of water by the back door.

“God bless us, everyone.”
