Football has come home.
England’s lionesses roared to victory over Germany in a gripping European championship final to bring home England’s first major trophy since 1966.
“Nice to be back,” confirmed football, dumping its suitcase and settling down on a sofa.
“I was wondering if I’d ever come home, but your lionesses brought me back. What a day. What a game. What a team.
“Get the kettle on, I’m here for a while.”
England fan, Simone Williams, confirmed, ”THEY BLOODY DID IT!
“Bravery, fitness, improvisation, inspiration, all the qualities of a lioness, all of it, left on the pitch today.”
“Football has come home, England’s name is on a trophy, pinch me, I must be dreaming.”
England player, Beth Mead, said, ”Have you seen my golden boot? Nice innit?
“I’m gonna do it again next year I reckon. I quite like the whole ‘sticking it in the goal’ part of the job.
“Anyway, come on, lads. We’ve shown you the way. Bring it home again for Christmas.”
