Manchester United have unveiled their first big summer signing of the season with a sensational swoop for striker Lee Mack.
With the Reds looking to bounce back from last year’s disastrous season, and other clubs around them already announcing a string of big signings to strengthen their squads, United have looked to put down an early marker for the forthcoming season by securing Lee Mack on a five-year deal.
A spokesperson for the club confirmed, “He’s a goal machine, and just what we need to put us back at the top of the league.
“We have seen that other clubs are making some big signings to prepare for next season, and we are no different, which is why we have made such a bold move. City might have signed Erling Haaland, but Lee Mack is right up there at his level. An elite level predator coming into his prime years.
“Obviously we have had Lee watched a few times, largely by watching Soccer Aid, and the re-runs of previous Soccer Aid’s, and the manager really likes what he sees.
“He’s definitely got goals in him, and he’ll be a great character in the dressing room. He can play up alongside Ronaldo, or sit just behind him in more of a creative role.
“We just hope that he is the final piece in the jigsaw to finally get Manchester United back to where they should be and challenging for the title.”
Asked to comment on the signing United fan David Tuke confirmed, “To be fair, he’ll probably do more running than Paul Pogba.”
