Will Smith has offered a full and unreserved apology today, for the 2013 movie, After Earth.
With news emerging overnight that the Academy has started a formal review of events at Sunday’s Oscars ceremony after the actor slapped presenter Chris Rock on stage, Smith has now finally apologised in public for his unacceptable behaviour in 2013 when he made the post-apocalyptic science-fiction shit-show After Earth.
Speaking earlier, a tearful Smith revealed “I didn’t think it would be that bad.
“I would like to offer a full an unreserved apology for both producing and indeed starring in After Earth, and for convincing other people to watch it.
“It is something I am not proud of and I am deeply embarrassed by my behaviour. I was out of line and I was wrong. Very very wrong.
“This is probably the stupidest thing I have EVER done right up to this present day, I have never done anything as embarrassing and I deeply regret my behaviour. Especially as I embarrassed my family by getting them to co-star and co-produce it with me.
“To put people through a full ninety-nine minutes of that shit is frankly unforgivable, and the fact that you could have predicted the end of the film within the first five minutes of watching it makes things even worse.
“Terrible movies are real, but going to see them is a choice.”
Asked if he has done anything else embarrassing or stupid that he feels he should apologise for he told us, “Wild Wild West. I’m sorry.”
