Woman who visited Mumsnet looking for advice on baby food now a trans-exclusionary radical feminist

A woman who visited the Mumsnet forums this afternoon looking for advice on weaning her 6-month-old daughter, has found herself identifying as a trans-exclusionary radical feminist just forty minutes later.

Simone Williams, 33, told us, “I’ll be honest, if you’d said to me at lunchtime that I would end today with some pretty strong opinions on the biological realities for anyone self-identifying as a woman, I would have laughed at you.

“But it’s not a laughing matter, as I have had repeatedly explained to me over the last half an hour or so.

“I didn’t realise that a simple question about the most suitable vegetables for blending into baby food could lead to me being made aware of the dangers of biological men using women’s bathrooms, and the potential mockery being made of the women’s weightlifting event at the Olympics.

“These are the critical issues facing us as a modern society, and I think we can all agree that if there’s one all-powerful group that needs taking down a peg or two, it’s the trans folk. They’ve had it all their own way for far too long.

“And that’s what I told my husband over dinner, before he loudly sighed and insisted I focus on telling him what I found out about blended vegetables for our daughter, because apparently ‘that’s more important’.

“I didn’t realise I’d married a bloody misogynist.”
