Homeworker fuming as textbook ‘snowed in’ excuse rendered absolutely useless

A homeworker is fuming this morning after his standard textbook ‘I can’t get to work because I’m snowed in’ excuse has been rendered absolutely useless.

Simon Williams, who never manages to get to work when it snows, revealed his disappointment earlier after realising he can get to his office from his bedroom without having to leave the house.

Speaking earlier he told us, “Gutted. Absolutely gutted. I can’t believe I have to go to work today.

“I never go to work when it’s snowing, you’ve got a ready-made perfect excuse to just tell your boss that you’re snowed in and there’s no chance that you can get there, no matter where you live.

“So when I saw the snow was still there this morning, I couldn’t believe my luck, and then I planned a day of films and just chilling because, you know, it’s quite dangerous to go outside when it’s been snowing.

“But then I realised I have been working from home for almost two years now, and I don’t have to leave the house to do my work, so there’s just no way I can use it as an excuse, even though the snow is actually quite deep outside now.

“I’m so pissed off I could cry, it should be a legitimate day of relaxing and not working, and I could have probably stretched it to tomorrow off as well.”

Asked how bad the snow is in his area he told us, “Almost a quarter of an inch man. It’s dangerous.”
