Arsenal ask if they can submit goals from 1995-96 season for August Premier League goal of the month

Arsenal have requested to submit a selection of goals from their 1995-96 season for this year’s August Premier League goal of the month.

With the club failing to register any goals whatsoever in the Premier League this season, the club has today issued a request to the league to submit goals from 1995-96 or perhaps even 2003-2004 season when they were last any good.

A spokesperson for the club confirmed, “We’ve got some quality goals to choose from, in August 1995.

“Everyone knows we are utterly shit at the minute, and couldn’t score in a brothel, so we’re having to look in the archives, to when we were last any good.

“Obviously that’s a long time ago now, so it’s taken a while to find some decent goals that might qualify.

“But thankfully Ian Wright bagged a few goals in his time, and Henry was a top player too, so I think those two are in with a shout.”

Asked if they think they may have to do the same for September given their recent form we were told, “Well, we’ve got Norwich at home on 11th, so probably, yes.”
