The king is dead. Long live the king.

Chadwich Boseman

Despite suffering from cancer, Chadwick Boseman became a king and saved the world on more than one occasion.

As Black Panther, king of Wakanda, Boseman knew he had both the good fortune and the great responsibility of being a role model to people he would never meet or know but who felt they needed what he showed them.

The mark of a hero is to know their own weaknesses and to rise above them, treating adversity as an obstacle to be overcome rather than an unassailable barrier. Chadwick Boseman knew he faced the greatest test of all but faced it square on, and in so doing left a legacy of inspiration to a worldwide audience that is only strengthen by the manner of his passing.

He showed children often without role models of their own the power of quiet dignity and slow thoughtfulness in the face of adversity, and that the first solution is often not the best solution; and that only by taking responsibility for the consequences of our actions can we grow.

As he once said; everyone is the hero of their own story. You should be the hero of your own story.

For millions, Chadwick Boseman was a helping hand on the road of becoming the hero of their own story.

There are currently witterings below - why not add your own?
