“We have the resources to help refugees, but we definitely shouldn’t,” claims hideous human

disgusted man not keen on helping migrants and refugees

We shouldn’t help the “Others”, according to some fuckwits today.

Despite being the fourth richest country in the world, it is still being argued that the UK shouldn’t help refugees if they’re seen in a dinghy rather than at an airport.

“Yeah, we shouldn’t help them,” claimed Derek Williams, who presumably rides a bicycle with his hands.

“I mean yeah they’re obviously in need, and yeah we could easily afford to help, and yeah Britain has only taken a total of 10,000 Syrian refugees compared to Turkey’s 3.6million, and yeaj, in fact that 10,000 only represents 0.2% of the total number of people displaced from Syria, and yeah the impact to our infrastructure from taking in a dozen refugees a day would be pretty miniscule – but – and this is the important bit – they’re not from here.

“And I think that’s argument enough to not help someone. That’s my opinion, which means I can’t be criticised for saying it. That’s the law now.”

A slightly nicer person, Hayley Rice, said, “I’m pretty sure Simon can be criticised…

“Call me naive but if we can help people… then shouldn’t we? Even if they happen not to able to hum the theme to Only Fools and Horses?

“I don’t understand why someone’s location of birth is a reason to not help them when we can afford to do so. It’s an incredibly strange argument to me.

“Am I the weird one here? Am I wrong for seeing pictures of pregnant women stepping out of dinghies on the beach and thinking we should help?

“I hope I’m not, but everyone on the Daily Mail comments page thinks I am, and nobody’s a better judge of character than them.”
