The Korean Central News Agency, the official news agency of North Korea, issued a statement today claiming that the country’s Supreme Leader, Kim Jong Un, has already spotted all the Easter Eggs in the brand new Marvel movie, Avengers: Endgame.
In a broadcast on the state-sponsored news channel, a spokesperson stated that Kim Jong-un “spotted absolutely every single one of the Easter Eggs in Avengers: Endgame before anyone else did, and without having to look at YouTube or anything.”
The statement comes at a time of heightened tensions between the North Korean leader and Donald Trump, and is being seen as a challenge to the US President, who has yet to claim to have spotted any of the Easter Eggs in the movie.
Easter Eggs are intentional in-jokes, hidden messages or images, and are often to be found in science fiction, fantasy or comic book movies.
“Kim Jong Un’s father, the late Kim Jong Il, claimed to have hit 11 holes-in-one during his first ever round of golf in 1994,” explained Simon Williams, an expert in US-Korean relations, “but this is way cooler.”
