Supporters of Tommy Robinson have today insisted his banning by Facebook is an infringement on his freedom of speech, rather than a simple demonstration of the fact that lots of people think he’s a dick.
Robinson’s Facebook page has long been the place for him to angrily talk about the sort of things that can generate him the most cash donations, but Facebook finally called time on that cash cow after realising he is a dog-whistling gas-lighting dick.
Fans of Robinson have said that not letting him post on Facebook to talk about some of the distasteful things he says for money in is an affront to the principle of free speech, with some of them laughably insistent that this is the case.
However, Facebook spokesperson Chuck Williams explained, “Tommy Robinson is quite free to go and stand on a box in the park and talk at length about his views on nationalist identity, paedophiles and the failure of immigration – we’ve just decided that we’re not going to give him a place on our platform to say it.
“You can tell it’s not infringing on his right to free speech because no-one from the government has come to take him away for saying the things he said on his Facebook page. Except when he jeopardises ongoing trials and almost lets paedophiles walk free, obviously.
“He is literally free to say whatever he likes, just not on our social media site.”
Robinson Supporter Trevor Matthews told us, “This is disgusting from the media. The constitution I saw online says you have to listen to whatever garbage I make up – it’s the law of the world. I know that’s true because I read it on the Infowars website.”
