Kensington Palace has announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding will have a strict Star Wars theme.
The wedding will take place in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle and work has already begun to transform the interior into an exact replica of the Mos Eisley cantina.
Prince Harry will arrive dressed as Han Solo in a Bell 429 helicopter that will have been modified to look like the Millennium Falcon. He will be accompanied by his best man – Chewbacca, or heir to the throne Prince William, as he’s better known.
It is thought that the Prince had wanted to come as Lando Calrission, but the Queen has issued a blanket ban on members of the Royal family ‘blacking up’ after an embarrassing moment with Prince Andrew when he tried to make an African trade delegation feel welcome.
The bride will wear the Princess Leia white gown with the famous ‘headphone’ hairdo. However, she will change into the iconic gold bikini for the evening reception.
The ceremony will be presided over by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby dressed as Yoda and the happy couple will leave the Chapel to the strains of the disco classic ‘Star Wars and other galactic funk’ by Meco, as Prince Harry’s army comrades offer a lightsaber guard of honour.
It is understood that initially Prince Harry favoured a Lord of the Rings theme but Ms Markle balked at having to dress up like Sean Bean.
The ceremony will take place on May 19th and we hope the Force will be with the happy couple.
