Archmaester Ebrose has finally bowed to overwhelming pressure and condemned the undead and everything they stand for as ‘pure evil’.
The comments come after a storm of criticism – some from prominent figures within his own council – after he failed to criticise head-on the Night King and his army of Wights after they began marching on the Wall over the weekend.
On Saturday the Archmeaster said, “We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of ice storms, armies of the undead and frightening blue eyes on many sides. On many sides.”
White Walkers saw his comments as a show of support with The Night King writing on his Tumblr, “The Archmaester did not single out the army of the undead specifically instead suggesting the Wildlings and the Night’s Watch were also at fault for the raising of the dead, the eating of babies and the impending end of humanity. No condemnation at all.”
Yesterday, however, the Archmaester finally came out to criticise the ‘White Walkers, the Night King, the Army of the Undead and other hate groups’ as being ‘repugnant to everything we hold dear as Westerosians’.
His comments come too late for some, however, with Sam Tarly, a former Knight’s Watchmen and now a trainee Maester, telling us “The White Walkers crap is the worst kind of evil and a perversion of the truth that the Seven Faced God values some of his creations over others.
“So today I quit my scholarship as a Maester and am returning home to see my brother and father.”
