Dame Vera Lynn is to celebrate her 100th birthday by releasing a new album of classic tracks remixed by deadmau5.
The singer is known as the forces’ sweetheart for entertaining troops during World War Two to boost morale, and hopes her new tracks will now help boost morale in a post-Brexit Britain.
She told reporters, “I’m excited to show you all what we’ve been working on together, deadmau5 and I.
“I’ve always been a fan of progressive house, and I’ve followed deadmau5’s career with interest going back to his own mau5trap label. Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff hasn’t left my iPod since it was released nearly ten years ago.
“I was absolutely chuffed he agreed to work with me, and I’m confident you will enjoy the dynamic new sound he has brought to some of my classic tracks.
“We’ll Meet Again never sounded as good as when it includes an almighty drop so gnarly it will squash your chest right into your arse.
Deadmau5 confirmed the collaboration on his Twitter feed, telling fans: “Yeah, it’s happening, my Nan made me do it.”
