FA’s England manager shortlist consists of anyone who fancies having a go

England Manager

After ending Sam Allardyce’s contract by mutual embarrassment, the FA have narrowed down their search for a successor to anyone who fancies giving it a go.

FA chief executive Martin Glenn confirmed the search for a new manager was underway and that some discussions have already taken place.

“We ruled Harry Redknapp out of the equation when he asked how much he’d have to spend on new players,” he revealed.

“As it stands, we’ve got it down to anyone who fancies having a go, except Steve Bruce.”

An online poll currently has Brian Blessed as the fan’s favourite for the job, but Glenn insisted the FA won’t be rushed into a decision.

“We are determined to find someone who is willing to take on an impossible job that will ultimately end up with their reputation laying in tatters,” he said.
