Brexiter makes plucky first attempt at satire

A Brexit supporter has demanded people give his jokes a chance to work today.

Speaking to Britain’s second most popular Onion rip-off website, Leave supporter Simon Williams submitted an article that everyone might find funny if they put aside their negativity and actual sense of humour.

Accusing Remain voters of actively hiding their hilarity just to spite him, Simon said that good, old-fashioned plain-speaking decent British merriment was capable of making people laugh if only they’d let it.

“I think that if people stopped looking for reasons not to find the piece funny they’d be rolling in the aisles,” Simon told us.

“There’s plenty of opportunity for laughs, and people should give it a chance to work rather than being so chippy.

“I wish they’d stop talking Leave satirical pieces down and let them stand on their own feet, and then they’d realise they’re actually hilarious.

“When you think about it, it’s other people’s fault they’re upset and frightened, and mocking them is a great way to bring them round,” he added.

The Leave campaign has confirmed that it might take years for them to produce an amusing piece of writing, but it’ll be worth it in the end, you’ll see.
