America’s powerful gun lobby issued a response to the most recent firearm massacre by putting its fingers in its ears and going ‘la-la-la, I can’t hear you’.
NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre appeared in front of reporters yesterday to respond to questions about gun control following the massacre.
The first question yesterday came from the New York Times: “Surely you must accept that the time is right to initiate some form of gun control in our country?”
Mr LaPierre responded without hesitation by putting his fingers in his ears and going, “la-la-la, I can’t hear you”.
The next question came from a highly respected Washington Post reporter: “Do you have anything to say to the victims of this latest massacre, where the guns used were bought perfectly legally?”
There was a brief pause as Mr LaPierre considered the question before putting his fingers in his ears and going ‘la-la-la, I can’t hear you’.
The questions came thick and fast, Mr LaPierre responding staunchly to each one by putting his fingers in his ears and going ‘la-la-la, I can’t hear you’.
At the end of the press conference, Mr LaPierre noticed a transgender woman entering the ladies’ restroom and sprung into action, tackling her to the floor and screaming, “this is everything that’s wrong with our country today, we need immediate action, dammit.”
